Easy way to test your SNES cartridge slot.

Earlier today I was refurbishing a lot of Super Nintendo (SNES) consoles that I’ve been sitting on.

They needed anything from general cleaning and replacement cartridge slots to new power/AV connections. Sometimes the cartridge slots are damaged and the primary cause of failure. I whipped up a cheap little rig for testing the pins.

I took copper tape and made a conductive edge out of a card in my wallet. Then I clipped my continuity tester to it. It’s probably best to make this a little thinner or the same as a SNES cartridge. We don’t want to damage or bend those pins!

Insert the card and flip the board over to test the pins on the underside for continuity. Easy Peasy.
